Introduction to the Sewing Machine
What you'll learn:
Learn to sew with us! This course is perfect if you're interested in making clothes. We'll help you become comfortable with a sewing machine, teaching you how to set it up correctly, troubleshoot issues, and create various samples. You'll get hands-on experience with different stitches, both with guidance and on your own. At the end of this course students will sew their own skirt. This is a beginner's course and students must be able to read and write in english.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Use your sewing machine's features effectively

Create basic seams and finishes, and carry out various sewing tasks on your own

Troubleshoot and resolve common sewing machine issues
What you will need to bring along:
- Stretchy (but not too stretchy) fabric
- Fabric and paper scissors
- Sharp trimming scissors
- Dressmaker’s pins
- Tape measure
- Tailors chalk
- Dressmaker’s tracing wheel
- Tracing paper
- A selection of hand sewing needles and threads
- Notepad and pens, pencils, sharpener and an eraser
Time and Duration:
- Tuesday’s @ 10:30 - 14:00 (2 weeks - once a week)

- Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students
