What you will learn:
This course will provide you with a thorough introduction to the core skills of pattern making, enabling you to draft simple patterns and have a skirt block. You will be able to manipulate your pattern to varieties of skirt styles. By completing this course, you'll be able to operate a sewing machine and create a simple skirt toil.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Make basic pattern adjustments with simple techniques
- Select appropriate fabrics for your projects
- Understand and follow pattern terminology
- Use a sewing machine safely and effectively
- Construct and finish a garment to a high standard (for fast learners).
What you will need to bring along:
- Fabric and calico
- Fabric and paper scissors
- Sharp trimming scissors
- Dressmaker’s pins
- Tape measure
- Tailors chalk
- Dressmaker’s tracing wheel
- Tracing paper
- A selection of hand sewing needles and threads
- Notepad and pens, pencils, sharpener and an eraser
Time and Duration:
- Wednesday’s @ 15:00 - 18:30 (6 weeks - once a week)

Note:
- Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students
- You are generally expected to spend some time outside of class for the completion of the activities, hence it is advisable to have a sewing machine at home
