Professional Sewing Techniques

What you will learn:

In this project-based course, you'll learn to cut, fit, and construct stunning couture garments. Building on your existing skills, you'll develop advanced techniques in fitting, construction, and couture finishing to create professional-quality pieces. This course is ideal if you want to make couture garments for yourself or if you're considering a career in fashion, whether running your own business or working for a fashion company. You should be able to work independently and have a foundation in sewing and garment construction to attend this class.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Work with advanced fabrics and trimmings
• Solve problems and think independently
• Apply advanced features and finishing techniques learned from class tutorials 

What you will need to bring along:

• Fabric and calico
• Fabric and paper scissors
• Sharp trimming scissors
• Dressmaker’s pins
• Tape measure
• Tailors chalk
• Dressmaker’s tracing wheel
• Tracing paper
• A selection of hand sewing needles and threads
• Notepad and pens, pencils, sharpener and an eraser
  

Time and Duration:

• Thursday’s @ 15:00 - 18:30 (6 weeks - once a week)
